Pros

  • Founded in 2005, FP Markets is regulated iby a couple of different regulators for trading forex and CFDs.

  • FP Markets offers the MetaTrader and cTrader platforms, along with ultra-competitive spreads available by way of its commission-based Raw ECN account.

  • FP Marketsis sstrong in it's commission based accounts.

  • FP Markets provides access to the Iress platform suite which offers over 10,000 tradeable assets.

Cons

  • FP Markets’s new mobile app is a welcome addition but still weak when compared to other leading apps.

  • FP Markets’ educational content is not particularly strong, though it has improved year after year with the introduction of podcasts and more articles.

  • Data fees can add up quickly unless you are an active trader or maintain a high-balance account.

  • FP Markets’ Social Trading portal is compatible with MetaTrader 4, but again not as good as other leading copy trading platforms.

Commissions and fees

FP Markets - its commission-based ECN account offering are good. The Iress ViewPoint account option is for those who can hold a high balance in their account .

Standard versus Raw ECN account: FP Markets’ Raw ECN account offers average spread of 0.1 pips and regular accounts averaging 1.2 pips for EUR/USD. commission-based Raw account, which has a flat rate of $6 for open a trade or close a trade for 1 lot trades.

Iress ViewPoint Accounts (Australia): The FP Markets Iress platform offers standard premium and premier accounts.

Iress Investor Account (Australia): If you can’t afford the ViewPoint account, then pass on Iress Investor.
